B&P procedure

Darcy, Adore Era Show

"What's a B&P?"

A B&P is when you send somebody blank media and return postage to copy a show for you.  The person copying the show has no out of pocket expense when doing this type of trade other than the time it takes to make the disc.  Yes time is an expense.

"How do make a B&P trade?"

It's really easy just follow these steps.

1. Buy a package of 10x13 inch legal envelopes.

2. Buy a 7-1/4 x 10-1/2 inch padded bubble envelope. (The sizes can be different the main point is to be able to fit the bubble envelope and discs inside the larger envelope)

3. Address the legal (larger) envelope to the person who is making copies for you.

4. Address the padded envelope to yourself.

5. Go to the post office and put everything your sending into the big envelope, (DON'T SEAL THE ENVELOPE) have the clerk weigh and put the correct postage on the package.

6. Place the discs that you will be receiving back in the smaller padded envelope.  Have the clerk put the appropriate postage on the envelope.

7. Place everything your sending in the padded envelope, but DON'T SEAL THE PADDED ENVELOPE.  This is done to protect the discs in the mail.

8. Put the padded envelope in the larger envelope and seal it.  Then give it to the postal clerk so it can be mailed.

Lately I've had a lot of people ask me about B&P's.  I used to be very liberal about these, recently though I was taken advantage of.  Unless I've traded with you in the past or somebody that I regularly trade with refers you to me I more than likely wont do any.

"I don't have any show's how can I trade with you?"

I understand how hard it is to start trading when you really don't have a large bootlist.  I regularly do 2:1 trades.  Just ask.

"What's a 2:1 trade?"

A 2:1 trade is a lot like a B&P.  The main difference is you send the person who is copying a show for you an extra disc for each disc they copy for you.  So for example if you wanted a 2 disc bootleg you would need to send 4 discs and return postage.  The whole process is done the same way a B&P is done with the exception that you send extra discs to the person copying the show.

I don't mind in the least bit doing 2:1 trades.  It helps more people get shows and helps the trader save on discs and avoid being ripped off.
